About this event
Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes
In the summer of 2022, a miner struck more than gold in Canada’s Yukon. A fully preserved infant woolly mammoth that died 36,000 years ago protruded from the Arctic permafrost, her flesh still pink and green grass in her belly. Mammoth Hunters is a feature documentary that takes us on a journey back through time as we join five mammoth lovers –– scientists, artists and citizen detectives –– to solve the riddle of these ancient and charismatic animals. Like a puzzle itself, the film blends ecology, history, spirituality and the mystery that is deep time to reveal the bonds that link humanity to these Ice Age giants.
