Privacy Policy
(Straight from the North, with care and common sense.)
Welcome to The Yukon Trader!
Here’s how we handle your personal information — with the same respect we’d expect from a neighbor borrowing a snowmobile.
Collection
-When you post something on The Yukon Trader, it’s out there for fellow Yukoners (and the world) to see. Our servers call the United States home, so when you give us personal info, you’re agreeing that it can be collected, used, stored, and shared in line with this policy — and housed south of the border.
-We may collect and hold onto things like:
-Your email address, phone number, billing info, and ways to contact you;
-Details like when you sign on, what pages you visit, and traffic to and from our site;
-Standard info like your IP address and browser logs.
-Basically, it’s the information we need to keep the sled running smoothly.
Use
-Here’s what we do with your info:
-Deliver the services you came for;
-Confirm, track, and complete trades or purchases;
-Help settle disputes, chase down payments, and fix technical hiccups;
-Keep the trading post safe and fair for everyone;
-Fine-tune your experience and bring you better deals, services, and content;
-Send you service notices and the occasional Yukon-sized deal (only if you want them);
-And any other good and honest use we explained when you gave us your info.
Disclosure
-We don’t sell or rent your information — not for gold, not for caribou, not for anything.
-We might share it, though, when:
-The law says we have to;
-We need to protect people’s safety, property, or rights;
-We’re working with trusted service providers who help us run this trading post smoothly.
-That’s it. No backdoor dealings, no secret squirrel business.
Communications and Email Tools
-When you sign up, you agree to get emails from The Yukon Trader — the useful kind, like updates, feature announcements, and important notices (no spam traps here).
-You can’t use our tools to spam others, either. We may scan messages through our system to keep things clean, but we don’t keep those messages forever.
-If something smells fishy, we may slow down or stop suspicious messages — keeping the place as clean as a fresh Yukon snowfall.
-If you use our tools to send a note to a friend, we don’t keep their email address afterward, and we sure don’t sell it.
-Got spammed by someone? Give us a holler at customer support.
Security
-We use plenty of tools — encryption, passwords, tight access controls — to keep your information safe.
-But let’s be honest: even the best moose-proof fences can’t stop everything. While we work hard to protect your data, we can’t promise perfection.
Cookies
-Yes, we use cookies — and not the kind you dunk in your campfire coffee.
-The Yukon Trader and our partners may plant small data files (cookies) on your device to:
-Analyze how you use our site;
-Customize what you see;
-Make the site faster, safer, and more personalized.
-Some parts of the site only work properly if cookies are enabled. You can refuse cookies if you like (check your browser settings), but it might make the experience bumpier — like driving a pickup down a frozen logging road without chains.
General
-The Yukon Trader may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
-Updates kick in either the next time you use the site or after 30 days — whichever comes first.
-If we ever join forces with another company, your information may be shared, but this policy will still stand to protect your rights.
-If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re just a message away — no sled dogs required.
